Kilroy-Silk Step Down!

Robert Kilroy-Silk MEP

Some details of his performance as an MEP, correct to best of our knowledge, as of 20th Nov 2008,-

He has submitted 1,580 written questions to either the Commission or the Council. These questions come at a very high administration cost and for translation alone the Court of Auditors report of 2005 estimated that to be at an average of 276 euro per page.

His questions included:

  • Nov 5th 2008, "What is the Commission doing about Hungary?"
  • 3rd Nov 2008, "Will the Commissioner for Competition, Neelie Kroes, list the so-called ‘National Champions’ claimed by each Member State and indicate, in each case, whether she agrees with the designation?"

Many questions could probably have been answered by his own staff.

He last spoke in Parliament in October 2005, denying East Midlands electors a voice.

He has not been seen in the East Midlands since his failed attempt to be elected at Erewash in the 2005 general Election.

His office is outside the East Midlands at Aylesbury.
